About the Farm
Chontalí is a highland district in Jaén, Cajamarca, shaped by steep terrain, humid valleys, and smallholder farms typically under two hectares. Most sit between 1,600 and 2,000 masl, planted with Caturra, Bourbon, Typica and small amounts of other traditional varieties.
The area follows a clear wet–dry pattern: rains in early spring, then a long, drier period from May to October that supports slow, even drying. Farming here is small-scale and quality-focused, with careful harvest and parchment selection done on each farm.
About the Coffee
This lot comes from smallholders across Chontalí, processed using classic fully washed methods: hand-harvesting, controlled fermentation, clean washing and slow drying in the highland climate.
Expect a clean, balanced cup with structured sweetness and a crisp finish — a clear expression of this part of northern Peru.
