About the Farm
This lot comes from Kagumo Factory in Kirinyaga County, on the southern slopes of Mt. Kenya. More than 1,500 smallholder farmers, each with plots often smaller than a hectare, deliver their cherries to the factory as part of the Mutira Farmers’ Cooperative Society. Sitting at 1,550 meters, the region’s red volcanic soils and cool mountain climate create ideal conditions for slow cherry maturation and concentrated flavour.
About the Coffee
The coffee is a mix of SL28, Ruiru 11, and Batian, fully washed and dried carefully on raised beds in the sun. The result is a vibrant cup layered with blackberry sweetness, melon freshness, and ripe plum depth—a structured and expressive example of what makes Kenyan coffee so distinctive.
